My first job was as a junior in high school. It was a school program that my business machine teacher recommended me for. I first assisted my future mother-in-law, Mrs. Kimes, in the business office. A side note is that Mrs. Kimes really liked me; I did not realize that. She introduced me to her college student son, Jerry, and set up our first date.
After assisting Mrs. Kimes, she recommended me for a job with a CPA. I added up columns of numbers for him during tax season. I worked near a lady who was his assistant. I remember her well because of how she smelled. She smelled like a serious alcoholic. The smell of alcohol seeped from her pores. She tried to cover up the odor with cheap perfume. I always felt sorry for her. However, I was glad when my job was finished for the day, when I could walk outside and breathe fresh air.
I did enjoy my first job.
