Ministry Story

Forever Grateful Accepted

I was a local talk show host standing in the shadows of Bunny Wilson and Kay Arthur. In a day when women's conferences were designed to entertain, Susie rose above the fray by creating "Chosen Women" - a conference that would give women deep and solid messages to build their lives upon. She was a pint sized bundle of goodness. Her life gave me the courage to do more that I thought I could do. And there I stood, unworthy to have my name on the program. Nevertheless, she trusted me and encouraged me to speak the word. And so I did! Her conferences were top drawer! Perfectly organized! Beautiful! And welcoming! No fluff. Just speakers, musicians, and staff whose sole purpose was to exalt the name. Jesus! I will never forget her! "See you in Heaven Susie!" Forever Grateful for you Sandy Snavely Author, Speaker, Ministry leader & former talk show host! And a woman who never deserved any of these titles.

Family Story

Family time

We loved our family time with Mom, and so many of our favorite memories are found in the simple, everyday moments we shared with her. We tried to have a special breakfast together every weekend. She had movie nights with Kenley, special talks with Reece, and would always try to get him to play her guitar for her. With Hudson, she created something especially sweet with Peep, a little stuffed bunny she would send on adventures, complete with an adventure journal telling the stories of where Peep had been. She was also our “laundry fairy,” taking care of all of our clothes, which in our house was practically a full-time job. It was one of the many quiet ways she loved and cared for us every day. Mom and I spent countless hours sitting in her office talking about life, family, faith, and whatever happened to be on our minds. I was also her driver for appointments and shopping, which gave us so much time together. What could have been ordinary errands became little adventures to Newport Beach, Irvine, Temecula, and plenty of places in between. These 5 years were such a special gift to all of us. Mom was not simply someone we visited or saw on special occasions. She was woven into the rhythm of our daily family life. Her presence was everywhere, and the space she leaves behind will be deeply felt. We will miss her more than words can say, but we are incredibly grateful for all the ordinary days that became extraordinary simply because we got to share them with her.
