I was a local talk show host standing in the shadows of Bunny Wilson and Kay Arthur. In a day when women's conferences were designed to entertain, Susie rose above the fray by creating "Chosen Women" - a conference that would give women deep and solid messages to build their lives upon. She was a pint sized bundle of goodness. Her life gave me the courage to do more that I thought I could do.
And there I stood, unworthy to have my name on the program. Nevertheless, she trusted me and encouraged me to speak the word. And so I did! Her conferences were top drawer! Perfectly organized! Beautiful! And welcoming! No fluff. Just speakers, musicians, and staff whose sole purpose was to exalt the name. Jesus!
I will never forget her! "See you in Heaven Susie!"
