Memorials in Scripture

In scripture we have been given examples of memorials that were instituted to remember what God did.

Passover: "This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD" (Exodus 12:14).

Manna: "Moses said, 'This is what the Lord has commanded: Take an omer of manna and keep it for the generations to come, so they can see the bread I gave you to eat in the desert when I brought you out of Egypt'" (Exodus 16:32).

The Twelve Stones: The twelve stones from the Jordan (Joshua 4:7).

We Are to Remember

We are to remember, make note, and praise God for what He has done. We are also instructed to remember:

  • The Lord who is great and awesome (Nehemiah 4:14)
  • The Sabbath day (Exodus 20:8)
  • The wonders He has done (1 Chronicles 16:12)
  • The Lord in time of trouble (Jonah 2:7), and in the dark times (Psalm 63:6)

We Are Warned Not to Forget

We are warned not to forget God and what He has done.

Let Us Remember Together

Let's remember what He has done for us in these last weeks. Let's look and tell what God has done. Did you learn a new thing? Let's praise Him together.

What Comes Next

Next week, we will start a new series entitled "Awesome God!" We will look at the glimpses of God in scripture. To learn more of the Lord, who He is, and how He interacts with His people. We will look at amazing victories, and how some people responded to God. Our format will be different.
