The Brainstorm

Susan: I know we should have a conference just for women.

Ginger: And we have to use hearts. And we should have "heart" in the title. Women love to come to things that have to do with the heart.

Susan: With all of you having such stressful problems in ministry, maybe it should be called "A Heart at Stress."

Bev: I don't want to go to a stressful conference.

Ginger: My heart is breaking. I am so worried about Agnes. We could cover all the issues we talked about, but we really need to have a speaker to encourage our hearts. Do you have any ideas for a speaker and music?

Jackie: I have a few ideas.

Susan: Now I think it will be such a big conference that I just had a vision. Let's have it in Rome!

Ginger: Great idea! We can have the membership lunch at the Circus Maximus. If God wants it there, He will even provide party favors.

Susan: Now, are we going to make this happen? I know if each of you calls before the next meeting we can make it happen.

Jackie: almost faints I just can't possibly do that, and so on.

Susan: I think this was a very good meeting. Thank you, ladies!

The Skit: Glorie Faith Bright

Glorie Faith Bright, The Women's Tasteful Director of Revolutionary Ideas of the 700,000 Light Church in Las Vegas (7 being the perfect number).

Glorie opening in meeting room, speaks to audience:

Well, girlfriends, I just can't believe that only last month Pastor asked me, Glorie Faith Bright, to be the Women's Tasteful Director of Revolutionary Ideas here at the 700,000 Light Church in Las Vegas. It is a huge responsibility and is more than even I can handle. I confess I need some help to cope in producing this. But I've had a BRIGHT IDEA!

I've invited some other powerful, successful, like-minded Women's Directors here today. You know she does everything at her church, she must really be someone. Her ability is the talk of women's ministry; it is rumored she may have a radio deal brewing. And I invited Opal, and you all have heard of her; she has received international recognition for her award winning organizational skills. And, out of sisterly kindness, I've also included Winnie. Poor thing, I just wanted to give her some positive reinforcement.

Knock at the door.

Oh, here they are now! I'm so excited! Hugs and kisses. Please, sit down. Some of you know one another, some have not met, so please introduce yourselves, giving your name, position and church.

Well, thank you, ladies. The purpose of this meeting is to tell you that I have had a BRIGHT IDEA! Here it is: let's form a group for networking, share our vast resources and encourage one another. Don't you just love this revolutionary idea?

The Name Game

Glorie: Let's come up with a name for the group. Each of us needs to share the name we think it should be. Just share what the words are, not the initials. The next person tells what the initials spell.

Winnie: Well, I have a great name. Call us what we are: "Women In Ministry Positions."

Ginger: Oh dear, Winnie, that is so nice, but the initials would spell WIMPS.

Jackie: I have a good name. Since I'm so overwhelmed, how about "Girls Enduring Ministry Sacrificially."

Susan: That would be GEMS.

Ginger: Well, the name I've been thinking about is "Girls Only Special Support Interdenominational Program."

Jackie: Do you really want to know what your name spells out? GOSSIP.

Susan: I've been really thinking about this: "Jesus' Enthusiastic Women Entrusted as Leaders."

Bev: Well, I know we all have sparkling personalities but I don't really want to be known as a JEWEL just because you are an Opal.

Susan: What do you think about this idea? We all agree that NEWIM says it all.

Winnie: Well, that is why she is the leader. She has the best ideas.
